3 Hours and 15 Minutes
That’s the amount of time that the average person is on their cell phone. That’s 195 minutes of the 1,020 minutes we have in our waking day (17 hours). That’s about 20% of our day. One-fifth of our waking day is on our cell phone.
I’m not here to chastise or change anything. I’m creating awareness. Awareness that I think can be helpful.
Of those 195 minutes, how many are in conversation with a loved one? How many are used to brighten someone else’s day or minute?
How many of those minutes are used for reading about someone’s life?
How many are spent in gossip? Or frivolous chatter?
How many minutes are used to make our world and relationships a better place? How many are used to build up rather than tear down?
How many minutes are spent on mindless games and activities?
How many are spent in mindless and distracting video watching instead of helping someone find peace, clarity, love?
How do you want to use that 20% of your life? How do you want to make those 195 minutes count towards making someone else’s minutes seem brighter, happier, joyful, connected?
195 minutes have such potential to change a life, bring more love into the world, send hope to a hopeless person, create connection, and touch hearts and minds.
How do we want to “speak” to others in our lives in these 195 minutes? How do we want to be spoken to?
How aware will you and I be in these 195 minutes today?
